President Teresa Price called the meeting to order on January 23rd at 6:30 pm, followed by invocation from Frances Lee. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Nancy Shores of the Friends of Hardin County Public Library group spoke about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
A variety of club business was discussed. Topics included:
- The Mayor’s Breakfast on February 3rd. The club will be making breakfast burritos as a donation for the meal. We are asking for donations of sausage, chorizo, tortillas, egg and cheese. Monetary donations are welcome as well.
- Valentines Day Potluck and Meeting on February 13. The club’s next meeting will have a special dinner with entertainment. Club members are asked to bring a dish.
- District Meeting on February 16-17 The next district meeting is in Lexington, Kentucky. Several members will be attending. We encourage members to attend. Information can be obtained from Denise Haynes or Teresa Price.
- Essays are due by February 13. All essays submissions should be submitted by February 13 at the bi-monthly meeting that night. More Information.
- The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is on March 23. We will be hiding 10,000 eggs this year at Radcliff United Methodist Church on March 23. We are accepting donations of small candy (tootsie roll size). Candy can be brought to any meeting. The eggs will be filled on March 16 at 9 am at the Radcliff United Methodist Church. All members are invited to help with the filling.
- Oratorical applications are due by March 26. Students under the age of 19 are invited to participate in the Oratorical Contest. Submissions must be in by the bi-monthly on March 26th. More Information.
- Men’s Raffle Basket donation items needed by April 23. Following the success of last year’s “What Women Want” raffle basket, we will raffling off basket for men this year. We are looking for donations of men-friendly items to include in the basket. Donations can be brought to any meeting between now and April 23rd.
Our next meeting is on February 13 at Colvin Community Center, special starting time of 6pm. We hope to see you there!
